Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER)

Established in 1992 and headquartered in Guwahati, FINER is the premier and oldest apex business association in Northeast India. With over 400 members spanning various sectors, from large and mega enterprises to small and medium businesses, we stand as a non-government, non-profit, industry-led, and industry-managed organization. As the voice of industry in the Northeast, FINER plays a proactive role in influencing policy

issues and strategizing growth perspectives with State Governments, Central Government Ministries, and various Government Agencies. Our deep understanding of the region’s business and industry ecosystem makes us a key reference point for governments, investors, civil societies, academics, media, and trade delegates seeking information on the North Eastern Region.

FINER serves as an ideal platform for networking, consensus building, knowledge dissemination, and capacity building. Beyond our industry commitments, we actively support and strengthen communities and marginalized sections of society. We work in partnership with civil society, governments, and other stakeholders to promote integrated and inclusive development. In times of crisis or calamity, FINER is always ready to offer necessary support.

To bring Trade, Industry & Commerce of the region under one umbrella
Enhance the flow of investments into Trade, Industry, and Infrastructure of the region
Generate additional employment opportunities in the region
Identify and deploy the State resources of the region for productive use
Special focus on promoting the traditional industries through the cluster approach with private sector participation with a view to ensure the economic

development of the remote and hill areas of the North Eastern States
Pursue the agenda of Infrastructure development, enhance private sector participation, human resource development, expansion of marketing linkages, and above all protection of the environment is the prime objective
To identify thrust areas, in particular, industries based on locally available raw materials and skills and draw up integrated development plans for each such area
Facilitate in raising the per capita income levels and standards of living of the people
Promote the region to bring it to the National Industrial Map
Help the SME for developing linkages for the global market

Ensure equitable industrial development in all regions of the North East and putting it on a high growth path

Advocate reforms in Banking and Financial Sector to ease the lending and credit flow for the SMEs

Started his business career in 1977 with an experience in various types of trade, industries and exports. Presently working with TCPL Packaging Limited as GM commercials since 2013; which is the most reputed and leading market player in manufacturing printed mono cartoons in India. Being socially active in many organisations, he played a proactive role in power sector which has benefited the whole of the industrial sector in the state of Assam.
